If you need a vacation or a quick getaway trip, Aeromar Airlines now offers direct flights from Tucson.

Carolyn Kinsman and Perry Wilkes have been traveling all summer, but now they are ready to go home to Mexico.

"I went to book and up came this information that the day we intended to travel they would have their first flights so we booked it. then we go the word and she booked it immediately," said Kinsman.

Aeromar Airlines is now jet setting directly from Tucson to Mexico.

"It was something I have been hoping for for eight years. It's a great asset for the community," said Kinsman.

The flights go to four cities: Hermosillo, Guadalajara, Los Mochis and Mazatlan. They also cost no more than $200 round trip, cheaper than flying out of Phoenix.

Layla Cattan was heading to Mexico for a business meeting, something she does often. She says this will make it easier for people traveling on business and families going on vacation.

"It's much easier to take a plane and go, almost an hour and a half or less than six hours by car. It's essential," said Cattan.

While passport cards are used for passing the U.S. border into Mexico, they will not be accepted for flights.

As for the little ones, make sure they have a passport or they will not be allowed on the flight.

The Gonzalez family of Phoenix knows that all too well.

"We have a three-month-old infant they said he can travel as long as he didn't have a seat. He's sitting with my wife. And now they're saying he cannot fly. It's a new rule," said David Gonzales.

"It's very upsetting because now they're saying that they might not be able to refund us."

Aeromar Airlines says they're excited to finally have direct flights from Tucson and will expand flights if business kicks off.
