Flags in Arizona are lowered to half-mast on Wednesday to honor the El Mirage officer who died chasing a suspect Tuesday.
Officer Paul Lazinsky spent 17 years as a law enforcement officer, and 20 years in the Army.
Lazinsky died as the result of a medical emergency while running after a 14-year-old who was wanted on a warrant.
The governor ordered flags at half-staff until sundown to honor the officer. He says they'll be lowered on the day of Lazinsky's internment.
