As of mid-day Thursday, the Burro Fire burning in the foothills of Redington Pass has burned 25,090 acres.
The cause of the wildfire is still under investigation and containment of the blaze remains at 11 percent.
There are currently 688 total personal working on the Burro Fire including 16 crews, 47 engines, 27 water tenders, a bulldozer and 8 helicopters.
An excessive heat warning went into effect Thursday noon and fire officials say firefighters are battling the flames at 110 degree temperatures which is effecting their tactics.
Lisa Keibler, a public information officer with the Burro Fire, says firefighters work a 14 to 16 hour shifts and concentrating on the southern perimeter of the fire and working their way up Catalina Highway.
The wildfire was originally reported on June 30.

EVACUATIONS: An Evacuation Order Remains in Effect for all residents along the Catalina Highway from Mile Marker 0, north including Summerhaven. For additional information call the Pima County Office of Emergency Management 520-724-9301.
ROAD CLOSURES: Catalina Highway/Mount Lemmon Highway is closed from Mile Marker 0, north to Mt. Lemmon. The Redington Pass Road is closed between Mile Marker 2 and 14. The Control Road is also closed.

The Coronado National Forest has implemented a closure for the Burro Fire area from Redington Pass Road and the Arizona National Scenic Trail north including Catalina Highway and the Control Road to the Pima/Pinal County line.
EVACUATED RESIDENT MAIL: Burro Fire Evacuated Residents: Mail may be picked up at the Ft Lowell Station on Grant Road between Costco and Target from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. There is a Dutch door available so Mt Lemmon customers don't have to wait in line in the lobby. They can knock if it isn't unlocked, the Postmaster will be there to give them their mail. If they go through the line in the lobby (after 2:00 or Saturday) they need to have ID available.
