Firearm background checks have declined by 20% since March of this year, according to recent statistics released by the FBI.

The company buys, sells and trades firearms.
He says in order for a customer to get their hands on a gun, they need to fill outfederal paperwork.
"Basically what we have is called the 4473," he said. "It's a background check, it has the buyer's background information sort to speak-- your name, address, has to be a current address, then they will have the main questions through here that are your background questions," said Ishikawa.
The questions range from asking if the person is a fugitive to if they have ever been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence.
He says within about 15 minutes, a person can either be approved, delayed or denied by the National Criminal Background Check System, or NCIS.
Ishikawa says many of their employees are retired law enforcement or military and if they feel the sale shouldn't go through they can shut it down.
This year he says sales dropped more than usual, but business as a whole is still going well.
"The main purpose of this is to keep everybody safe," he said. "General public, police officers, general everybody and not only that, but keep the sport of it safe and alive."
