Crews from the Tucson Fire Department responded to a fire alarm signal downtown on Church Ave. near Broadway Blvd. tonight around 6:40 p.m.

When crews arrived at the scene, they found that the fire sprinkler had activated, according to a TFD media release.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire and shut off the sprinkler system to prevent unnecessary water damage.

According to TFD, there were no injuries to firefighters and the building was unoccupied during the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
