A home on the northwest side was destroyed by a fire on Wednesday night according to Captain Brian Keeley of Northwest Fire District.
First responders arrived on scene within five minutes and found a single wide trailer 50 percent involved with fire in the 3200 block of North Flowing Wells Road according to a press release from Northwest Fire.
The homeowner was able to exit the house without injury. Five dogs were inside the home at the time of the fire. One dog died as a result of the fire and four are still unaccounted for.
It took 20 firefighters about 22 minutes to get the fire under control. The home is a total loss but a dollar amount is not immediately available. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
