A wild land fire is burning at Fort Huachuca. The fire started during weapons training on Range 10 off Garden Canyon Road.
The fire is approximately 98 percent contained and clean up operations are beginning. About 700 acres were burned including the Fort's back burn areas to help stop the fire's movement.
Soldiers who were training have all been evacuated to ensure their safety.
There were more than 30 emergency service personnel on site, including Fort Huachuca, Palominas, Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Forest Service and included a helicopter and air support for water drops.
Fort Huachuca will have personnel patrolling the area through the evening to ensure the fire does not flare up again.
