A jury has found a convicted felon guilty of possessing a deadly weapon, according to a news release from the Pima County Attorney's Office.
On Thursday a jury convicted Steven Weisner Jr. of Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Prohibited Possessor.
Authorities say Weisner was found with a 1911 type handgun in the storage pocket in the backseat area of a car that had been turned into living quarters.
Weisner admitted the gun was his and that he had it for protection.
Authorities say Weisner has a prior felony conviction and his right to possess a gun had not been restored.
A sentencing hearing for Weisner is scheduled for February 9.
