TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A man is dead after being stabbed by his stepson early Friday morning, according to Tucson Police Department.
Tucson Police Sgt. Pete Dugan said that stepson 43-year-old James L. Mason Jr. stabbed his stepfather, 72-year-old Alan Nielsen, with a hunting knife around 9 a.m. Dugan said the two were in an argument, when Mason stabbed his stepfather in the chest with the kife.
Nielsen was transported to Banner University Medical by Tucson Fire where he was pronounced deceased.
The victim's spouse was inside the home during the argument with the suspect's nephew. No one else was injured in the incident, said Dugan.
Detectives booked Mason into the Pima County Jail on one count of Domestic Violence-First Degree Murder.
