Authorities say the pilot of a small experimental plane escaped injury after crash-landing in a desert area near New River.
Daisy Mountain Fire Department officials say the pilot was the only person aboard the home-built plane.
The aircraft crash-landed around 7:45 a.m. Monday near Interstate 17 and New River Road about 14 miles northwest of Deer Valley Airport.
Authorities say the unidentified pilot was able to get out of the plane on his own.
He was evaluated by emergency crews at the scene and refused further treatment.
A spokesman for the Federal Aviation Administration says the agency is investigating the incident.
