Paul Disner was shot while he was driving to grab a bite to eat, late Tuesday night.
Today, with a bullet lodged in his neck, Disner feels lucky to be alive.
"I just believe, you know, everybody's got a guardian angel," he said. "And you know, a higher power. So I truly believe. Because a millimeter to the right or left, I would have been dead."
Disner explained he left his house on a quick, five minute ride to McDonald's. While he was driving, he saw another car parked on the side of the road. As he passed that car, his window shattered and he felt a sharp pain in his neck. In a state of shock, he continued to drive up the road to the Circle K on Golf Links and Harrison. There, 9-1-1 was called and he was taken to the hospital.
Initial reports led police to believe it was a random shooting. It's currently under investigation. Because of this, Disner is hoping the community can come together and help put someone behind bars.
"I would like the public's help to bring this person, if you can call it that, to justice," Disner said. "And I think he should be held. I mean, that's the ultimate breach of our freedoms, you can't have people going around doing that."
