EA apologizes for censoring Colin Kaepernick's name from song on Madden 19'

A popular video game franchise is getting extra attention this week ahead of its newest entry.

Featured on the "Madden NFL 19" soundtrack is a song from rapper Big Sean titled "Big Bank." The song mentions former San Francisco 49ers Quarterback Colin Kaepernick's name in the original version, but in the version on "Madden NFL 19", Kaepernick's name is censored.

A tweet from @jeanclervil pointed out the commission of his Kaepernick's name.

EA Sports, the makers of Madden, have since issued an apology.

Kaepernick gained national attention in 2016 by refusing to stand for the National Anthem when it was being played before games.
