Driver plucked from top of car in swift water rescue on Eastside

Tucson Fire crews responded to a swift water rescue at just after midnight near East Escalante and South Harrison roads.

According to a social media post from Tucson Fire Department, crews found a vehicle upon arrival, stranded in the Pantano Wash and surrounded by fast-moving water.

The driver was on the roof of the vehicle. Crews extended a ladder and picked up the driver, who was then transported safely back to shore.

No injuries were reported.
