FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) — After nearly a year, Flagstaff plans to resume enforcing paid parking downtown. The city of Flagstaff announced that drivers will have to pay for parking starting March 1.

Officials had suspended paid parking at the start of the pandemic to encourage patronage of businesses downtown. Time limits on parking spots, however, were still being monitored. When it picks up, the pay-to-park program will be in operation for shortened hours. Parking will generally cost $1 per hour.

There will be “carry-out” zones for people picking up food or conducting brief business to park without paying. All parking kiosks where customers pay will be sanitized daily.
