Dispose medication event on national prescription drug take back day

TUCSON, Ariz. — National Prescription Drug Take Back Day encourages anyone with unused or expired prescription and over-the-counter medication to be disposed properly.

DEA's Prescription Drug Take Back Day is to help properly dispose of medications safely, and to help communities prevent drug addiction and overdose.

Walmart stores are participating in Take Back Day October 26.

The goal is to help fight the Opioid crisis in the communities.

Below you can find where to dispose:

  • Walmart at 1650 W Valencia Rd from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
  • Walmart at 7635 No. La Cholla Boulevard from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
  • Walmart at 9260 S. Houghton Road from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Nearly 600 Walmart stores nationwide are taking part.
