TUCSON, Ariz. - Diocese of Tucson celebrates completed conference and educational building with ribbon cutting, Sunday afternoon.
Bishop Edward J. Weisenburger and Bishop Emeritus Gerald F. Kicanas will provide a Mass of Celebration will be held at noon located at St. Augustine Cathedral, 192 South Stone Avenue.
The ribbon cutting and blessing will take place at the diocese’s new Conference and Pastoral Center complex. The building is located north of St. Augustine Cathedral.
The building stands in place of the former parish hall.
The area of the historic and new construction around St. Augustine is called Cathedral Square. The Cathedral Square project started in 2007.
This is also home to the diocese offices and parish offices.
This project cost more than $21.2 million, which came from private donors.
This building includes new technology, conference rooms, and the offices are energy efficient.
Speakers at the celebration include Mayor Jonathan Rothschild, chairman of the borad for Rio Nuevo Fletcher McCusker, and Bishop Edward J. Weisenburger and Bishop Emeritus Gerald F. Kicanas.
