The Pima County Sheriff's Department is asking for the public's assistance in identifying a masked cigarette thief, according to a news release.

Deputies say on August 15 at 3:30 a.m. they responded to the Circle K at 9000 North Camino De Oeste for a report of a theft.

As deputies arrived, they learned that a man entered the store and went behind the counter where he filled a black bag with cigarettes.

When the suspect was leaving, he stopped to take lighters off of the counter before fleeing southbound from the store.

Detectives from the Community Problems Unit are investigating the case and asking for the public's assistance in identifying the man.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian man with possibly blonde hair. He is described as being 5'8" tall and approximately 20-years-old. He was last seen wearing a gray scarf around his face with a black hoody and black pants.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 9-1-1. If you would like to make an anonymous tip, with the potential for a reward, call 88-CRIME.
