The Pima County Sheriff's Department is investigating a suspicious death near Picture Rocks, according to a news release.
Just before 9 a.m. deputies from the Tucson Mountain District responded to a body in the desert area near the 8000 block of North Dakota Plains Trail.
As deputies arrived, they found a dead man in an advanced state of decomposition.
The man has not been identified and the cause of death is not known pending an autopsy which is scheduled for Tuesday.
Deputies say the investigation is ongoing, anyone with information is asked to call 9-1-1 or 88-CRIME.
