The Pima County Sheriff's Department is investigating a deadly dirt bike crash from Sunday morning, according to a news release.

Deputies say at 10:52 a.m. they responded to a single dirt bike crash near the 12800 block of South Wentworth Road, in the desert area.

As deputies arrived, they found a man who appeared to have crashed on his dirt bike while attempting to jump over a gully.

The driver was pronounced dead on scene. He has been identified as 36-year-old Arlyn Van De Mark.

Deputies say Van de Mark was the only occupant on the dirt bike and was wearing a helmet and protective gear.

PCSD says impairment is not believed to be a factor.

Deputies are still investigating the events leading up to the collision.
