The Cochise County Sheriff's Department is investigating a deadly accident in Tombstone from Friday morning that left a woman dead, according to a news release.
Deputies say at 10:30 a.m. they were advised of a single vehicle rollover on Charleston Road at mile post 10.
As deputies arrived on scene they located a white Chevy blazer upside down the back on a barbed wire fence east of Charleston Road.
A woman was out of the vehicle with several bystanders, including two out of state nurses, who were keeping her calm.
Crews from the Tombstone Fire Department responded to the scene and began treating the victim when she became unresponsive and provided life-saving measures.
The woman was transported to Canyon Vista Hospital where she was pronounced dead. She has been identified as 33-year-old Janna Todd from Tucson.
The initial investigation shows that the vehicle had been northbound on Charleston Road when it veered off to the left.
Deputies say it appears the driver overcompensated for the action which caused it to veer off the road to the right at which point the vehicle rolled over before coming to rest at the fence.
Deputies are still investigating the incident.
