Deputies investigate burglaries near SV

Cochise County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a string of burglaries near Sierra Vista.

According to the CCSO, homes in the Wild Horse subdivision south of Sierra Vista near Palominas was victimized three times in the past four weeks. A white truck was seen in the area during the incidents.

Burglars are stealing valuables from homes during the day. The last burglary was Monday afternoon.

"The holidays are getting closer and that has historically meant that incidents of thefts and burglaries may rise," Seriff Mark Dannels said in a statement. "We would ask our citizens to please take every precaution in protecting yourself and your property by locking doors to your homes (even while inside) and your vehicles, and keep any items of value out of sight. Also be aware of your surroundings and be a good neighbor by being attentive to who is in your neighborhood that maybe should not be. And most importantly, call your local law enforcement agency immediately when you see anything suspicious. See something...Say something! We are here to listen and respond."
