SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - Pushups, situps, pullups and more. All that is part of daily Physical Readiness Training at Fort Huachuca.

Reporter, Keaton Thomas, trained with a group of lieutenants at 6 a.m. one morning, the time they always train.

Exercises are a variety of what you would and would not expect for Army soldiers. There are plenty of pushups, pullups, and running, however more recently their training regimen has begun to include other movements that mimic something a soldier would do in the field.

The lieutenants are also students training to be military intelligence officers. In addition to training, these officers spend the rest of their day in class and studying.

"They work your brain and put you through a number of different activities," said Lt. Nathan Siebach. "They teach you critical thinking, they teach and do a whole bunch of different exercises to teach you to break out of the box."

At the end of the day, these soldiers need to be both physically and mentally fit.
