TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Gabby Giffords former intern who is credited for saving her life on January 8th is now running for office.
Daniel Hernandez announced he would be running for State Representative on Monday night.
For the last five years he has been serving on the Sunnyside School District Board. He wants to work across party lines to solve problems, not create them.
"I've seen the consequences that we have to pay for all of the bad decisions we've made up in Phoenix. Where they're not worrying about actually getting in good policies.. They're more worried about ideology," he said.
Hernandez said his goals are to make Southern Arizona a place with a strong business community and a good place for students and families.
