Tucson police are investigating a deadly collision involving a bicyclist that shut down a portion of 22nd Street between S. Tyndall and S. Euclid.
TPD says a driver of a pickup truck was driving westbound on 22nd Street in the left lane between Euclid Avenue and Tyndall Avenue. The cyclist was riding an electric bicycle eastbound and made a left-hand turn to go northbound in front on oncoming traffic. The cyclist was hit by the pickup.

TPD says the cyclist, John M. Shaul, 69, was taken to Banner University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. He died shortly after arriving at the hospital.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with police.
impairment was not a factor in the collision. No charges or citations have been issued.
