Many brides, bridesmaids, and regular customers of Alfred Angelo Bridal were shocked when they heard reports that the store was closing it's doors for good Thursday evening. Weddings are stressful enough for a bride, and one bride-to-be's day became very stressful after receiving a text from one of her bridesmaids.

"I got a text from one of my bridesmaids saying that she had to pick up her dress by 8:00 tonight or she doesn't get it," Megan Donohoe said. "But she's out of town, so I'm getting it for her."

She explained her friend had gotten a text from the company with that information -- and not much of an explanation.

Others around the country received texts and phone calls from the company too, telling them they had to come get their dress. One person here in Tucson who got a call was Jessica Orto. She'll be a bridesmaid in a wedding that's coming up, but wasn't expecting to get her dress any time this month. However, the phone call surprised her, as the dress was there way early.

"They said that they have my dress in stock and to come pick it up today because they are closing today at 8:00. Forever," she said.

The reports quickly flooded social media, sparking a panic among many brides and bridesmaids across the country. That was enough to get Tom Packer and his wife to the store Thursday afternoon, hoping to find some good deals -- and they did.

"My sister's wedding is in March, she's coming over from England to get married in Vegas," Packer said. "So, we got all of her wedding jewelry sorted out and got a couple of dresses for my wife as well."

When asked for a comment, employees at the store said they could not give an official comment.
