A hunger walk that's part of a worldwide effort takes place in Tucson Sunday.

The CROP Hunger Walk supports local organizations including the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona, Casa Maria Soup and Interfaith Community Services.

According to the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona, over 2,000 communities across the U.S. join in CROP Hunger Walks each year.

Last year nearly 200 Tucson walkers raised $22,961.

The walk starts at 2:00 p.m. at First Methodist Church located at 915 E. 4th Street. Registration begins at 1:30 p.m.

To join the Tucson 2017 CROP Hunger Walk you can sign up through your local church or visit the walk's website
