Crews from the Northwest Fire District responded to a double wide mobile home fire near Orange Grove and Thornydale on Sunday, according to Capt. Brian Keeley.

Keeley says NW Fire received multiple 9-1-1 calls for smoke and flames coming from a home in the 3400 block of West Cantaloupe Drive at 11:37 a.m.

The first unit arrived on scene within five minutes and found the entire back porch area of the home on fire.

Keeley says crews used multiple hose lines to extinguish the fie to stop it from spreading to the interior of the home.

Firefighters had the fire out in 13 minutes from the first dispatch.

Keeley says the homeowner will not likely be able to stay at the home tonight because of smoke damage from the fire.

The Northwest Fire Community Assistance Team responded to the scene and is assisting the homeowners, who were home at the time of the fire and were able to evacuate before crews arrived.

Fire investigators are on scene investigating the cause of the fire.

There is not yet an estimate on damages to the home.
