Northwest Fire responded to a mobile home fire on the northwest side in the 4000 block of Palm Grove Drive after receiving multiple 9-1-1 calls at 2:45 p.m. on Monday.
The first unit arriving on scene found a shed behind the home fully involved in fire as well as smoke coming from the eaves of the home.
The owner of the home told fire personnel and authorities that he was burning weeds in his backyard when the fire started.
The homeowner said the wind blew the fire in the direction of the shed which caused it to catch fire and the proximity of the shed to the home caused the fire to spread to the home itself.
In total, it took 22 firefighters 20 minutes to completely extinguish the fire.
Fire investigators are still on scene continuing their investigation.
Deputies from the Pima County Sheriff's Department cited the homeowner in connection to the fire.
There is not an estimate on the damages caused by the fire and no injuries were reported.
