TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Tucson Fire continues to monitor a brush fire that continues to burn on Tumamoc Hill.
Capt. Barrett Baker with Tucson Fire said two units responded after multiple 911 calls at 5 p.m.
"Initially no structures were threatened but it was just a matter of getting to the fire to extinguish it," he said.
University of Arizona Police Department Sgt. Filbert Barrera said officers evacuated a few employees from the mountain. Tucson Police assisted in evacuating hikers and pedestrians from the hill.
The fire was under control as of 8 p.m. but crews continue to monitor it, said Baker.
