Fire crews are battling a brush fire along the Loop 303 in north Phoenix.
The fire has caused the closure of the westbound Loop 303, and the I-17 because of heavy smoke in the area.
The fire started around 12:45 p.m. on Thursday along the Loop 303, just west of Interstate 17.
Phoenix fire said as of 1:00 p.m. the fire is 3 acres and is "spreading rapidly." There are no homes or other buildings threatened at this time.
The Loop 303 is closed westbound at the I-17. The I-17 is closed northbound at the Loop 101, and southbound at the SR74 according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
