UPDATE: Driver whose Sedan crashed head-on into school bus dies

UPDATE 2:58 p.m., Aug. 22:

The man sent to the hospital after crashing head-on into a school bus on West Arivaca Road Wednesday morning has died.

According to a news release from Pima County Sheriff's Department, 31-year-old Brian Jermaine Scupin-Dursema was traveling eastbound in a Sedan on Arivaca Road at 6:40 a.m. The sedan failed to negotiate a curve at milepost 8, crossed the double-line and slammed head-on into a school bus headed in the opposite direction, the news release said.

The driver of the bus sustained minor injuries. Scupin-Dursema sustained life-threatening injuries.

They were both transported to a local hospital, where Scupin-Dursema died from his injuries Wednesday evening, the news release said.

The investigation is ongoing.

A 31-year-old man is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after a crash involving a school bus and a car at Milepost 8 on West Arivaca Road, south of Green Valley, Wednesday morning.

Pima County Sheriff's Department reports no children were on the bus at the time. The 31-year-old man was driving the car.
