COVID-19 positive inmate dies at Tucson prison

TUCSON, Ariz. — An inmate who tested positive for COVID-19 last month passed away Wednesday, Dec. 2.

According to a news release, 66-year-old Stanley Carr, who was serving a sentence since 2014 at USP Tucson, had been on a ventilator since Nov. 10.

Carr suffered from long-term, pre-existing medical conditions, according to officials.

USP Tucson is a high-security facility that currently houses 1,352 male offenders.
