COTTONWOOD, Ariz. (AP) - Cottonwood police are calling the death of a woman whose body was found in her home garage suspicious.
Police say officers were called to do a welfare check Saturday morning on 61-year-old Pamela Shepherd.
They say Shepherd had not been seen since Tuesday.
Officers called a relative, who unlocked the door.
They found Shepherd dead in her vehicle, which was parked in the garage.
Investigators say Shepherd's 41-year-old son, Nathaniel Stubbs, was arrested later in the day on several outstanding warrants.
He is being held in a Yavapai County jail in Camp Verde and is considered a "person of interest" in his mother's death.
The investigation remains ongoing.
