A 7-Eleven employee was shot and killed Thursday night after confronting a shoplifter in midtown.
According to a news release from Tucson Police, 55-year-old Scott Dwayne Kennedy was shot at just after 11 p.m. at the convenience store at 4295 E. 29th St.
The suspect fled the scene after the shooting and no other injuries were reported, the news release said.
Kennedy died at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
