Construction crew member hurt while working on border wall near Lukeville

TUCSON, Ariz. — A construction worker working on the border wall suffered non-life threatening injuries in an accident Thursday, according to Tucson Sector Border Patrol.

The crew member was at a construction site near Lukeville when construction material hit him.

Tucson Sector Border Patrol says the crew member was treated on scene until being taken to the hospital.

The cause of the accident is being investigated.

Tucson Sector Border Patrol officials released this statement:
"A contract worker on the border wall construction crew sustained non-life-threatening injuries in an accident Thursday afternoon at a construction site near Lukeville when construction materials struck him. The crewmember was treated on scene before being transported via air ambulance to a local hospital. CBP cares for the well-being of our total force and will monitor our teammate’s condition closely. The cause of the accident is being investigated, and further updates will be provided as information becomes available."
