TUCSON, Ariz. — Want to go fishing?

You'll get the chance at Agua Caliente Park in January. According to a news release from Pima County officials, the public can fish in Pond 1 from Jan. 2 to Jan. 31.

Fish in Pond 1 include bluegill, bass and catfish. Officials recommend using "top-water lures or weedless lures and are asking that grass carp not be taken." They say fish samples have been tested and are safe to eat.

This comes ahead of a restoration project. The focus is water conservation and officials say Agua Caliente's spring has not produced "measurable flows of water" since 2014.

The park is located at 12325 E. Roger Road. It is open from 7 a.m. to sunset.
