Starbucks is closing all of its stores nationwide on Tuesday to train their employees on racial bias.
This is because of a video that went viral in Philadelphia after Starbucks called the police to arrest two black men for trespassing, even though they were waiting for someone to arrive for a meeting.
The Starbucks CEO issued an apology, and now all employees will be trained so an incident like this doesn't happen again.
All stores will close early at 2 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.
Because of this, Coffee Times, a local family-owned coffee shop will extend their hours on Tuesday for coffee lovers.
Alicia Espinoza is the general manager of Coffee Times and while she says she's not familiar with exactly why Starbucks is closing, she says she supports it.
Espinoza says since they are a drive-thru coffee shop, they don't have to deal with any sit-down issues like loitering.
Coffee Times will be open until 10 p.m. on Tuesday on Speedway near Country Club.
