The city of Tucson is kicking off a construction project on Kolb and Sabino Canyon. About 50 trucks will be pouring concrete from 10 p.m. Thursday though 6 p.m. on Friday. The road work comes as part of a $12.3 million dollar project to connect Kolb and Sabino Canyon.

Improvements include a four-lane roadway with bike lanes and sidewalks along with drainage improvements, landscaping and public art.

Thursday night's concrete pour is pumping in about 2 million pounds of concrete onto what will soon be the deck of the Pantano Wash Bridge.

The project is expected to be completed by February 2017. The City of Tucson's transportation department says they are ahead of schedule. No traffic delays are expected.
