TUCSON, Ariz. — People across the country scrambled for a chance at filling their tanks for 2 cents a gallon last night. This happened in a number of different states, as well as here in Arizona. In Tucson, this cheap gas was on Ajo and 12th.

Now at $2.39, the Circle K posted gas prices at 2 cents last night, Jessica Martinez said was exciting to see.

"I've never seen that before, I've always known gas prices to go up, so when I saw that I saw like, 'What's going on?'" said Martinez.

Living up the block, Martinez and her family were on their way to grab dinner, when they saw the scene at Circle K.

"So this entrance was blocked up, as well as this one right here and then this one over here. They were all the way out to the road to where you couldn't even pull in or drive by," said Martinez.

She said she stayed for ten minutes before giving up hope for the 2 cent gas.

"We came around here to this entrance and we were actually going to get in line but then there were just more cars lining up in the road right here to get in, so we kind of just took off," said Martinez.

By the time she got home, Martinez learned the cheap gas was a glitch in Circle K's system. But one member of her family, successfully got a full tank before the gas station changed the price back to normal.

"One of my cousins, he paid 61-cents to fill up his tank, so that was pretty awesome. Pretty crazy. But other people, they seemed pretty excited about it, you know just walking around, letting others know what was going on and stuff," said Martinez.
