Christmas may be 25 days away -- but one Tucson family received a gift they'll never forget: a special reunion.
A moment in the making for weeks -- United States Air Force Staff Sergeant Kellen Ferguson says it's one he'll cherish for a lifetime.
It all started with an assembly at the Family Life Academy in Tucson, designed to teach children about the military, honor those who serve, and celebrate the children who's parents serve. After many kids were brought on stage, two kids were asked to stay up there. These two -- Ferguson's kids -- had barely seen their father in the past two years. And they had no idea what was coming next.
"They haven't gotten to have their dad at home for two years," the speaker said. "Well, what if I told you that he is here with us today?" They turned, to see their dad, walking down the center aisle of the room -- glowing.
"These guys," Ferguson said. "They're everything They are."
The Staff Sergeant says he lives and serves for his family. Overseas, he carries photos of his wife, son, and daughter.
"Simply being with them brings all the joy in the world," Ferguson said. "I mean, it is, it's hard to put words to it."
A moment he'll never forget, and a Christmas present that'll be hard to beat.
