TUCSON, Ariz. — The Children's Museum Tucson welcomed a new executive director over the weekend.
Hilary Van Alsburg, who formerly served as the University of Arizona's Director of Development for UA Libraries, is the organization's newest addition.
“I am absolutely thrilled to be returning to the Children’s Museum,” Van Alsburg says. “It’s a family, it feels like home. This institution is so important to the children of Tucson and Southern Arizona."
Alsburg's career began in 2006 by working with nonprofits as a community and volunteer. In 2018, Alsburg was honored as the Outstanding Fundraising Executive by the local chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
“We could not have found a better fit for the Museum than Hilary,” says Amy Welander, chair of the Museum’s Board of Directors. “Her deep well of experience will continue to carry the Children’s Museum Tucson | Oro Valley into a bright future as the region’s only hands-on educational museum for kids.
