Celebrating four-legged friends at adoption event, DOGtoberfest

TUCSON, Ariz. — DOGtoberfest celebrates furry four-legged friends focusing on adoptions from many shelters and individual rescue groups.

The event will be October 27 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Gregory School, 3231 N. Craycroft Road.

There will be many shelters with the dogs of for adoption include; Pima Animal Care Center, Southern Arizona Humane Society, and the Animal League of Green Valley. Along with rescue groups including Tucson Cold Wet Noses and Miss Maggie May’s Rescue.

The Tucson Canine Freestyle Club Dancing Dogs and Desert Disc Dogs will be at the event performing.

In celebration of Halloween there will be a costume contests, a look-a-like for adults and kids. There will also be a best-looking dog, best trick-or-talent contest, and trick-or-treating for kids.

Those attending are asked to bring a can or bag of dog or cat food or other pet items to donate to Cody’s Friends Charity.

The event is free to attend.
