The Cochise County Sheriff's Office was informed of a fraud call that a Cochise County resident received Saturday.
According to Carol Capas with CCSO, the caller received a call from a man claiming to be a technician with Dish Network.
The suspect told the resident that he was paying too much money for their service, and he later asked for their security code and address.
The caller claimed to be calling from New Jersey, but the resident claimed that the caller had a heavy Indian accent.
The suspect identified himself over the phone as Rahul Sharma and was calling from is 832-819-3608.
The resident did not provide any information and immediately called Dish Network directly asking about this issue.
Capas says that this number is a Google number with a message advising that the individual is not available.
Please be aware that this scam is going around the Sierra Vista area and possibly in other locations. If you receive a call, please hang up and do not provide any personal information. If someone comes to your home to "work on" your dish system, please call your local law enforcement agency and NEVER let anyone into your home unless you have made a call for service, Capas said.
