The Cochise County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of an inmate at Cochise County Jail.
According to Carol Capas with the Cochise County Sheriff's Office, 35-year-old Derrick Joe Worcester was booked into the Cochise County Jail on Tuesday, November 14 at 10:14 p.m. by the Tombstone Marshal's Office on charges of motor vehicle theft, possession of a narcotic drug, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was assessed by medical personnel Thursday morning after experiencing nausea the previous night and was checked in eighteen minutes prior to becoming unresponsive.
Worcester was transported to a local hospital and was pronounced dead.
This investigation is being continued by the Cochise County Sheriff's Office.
