TUCSON, Ariz. — U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized 53 pounds of meth and arrested a Mexican national in connection with the incident on Tuesday morning.
Officers referred a 25-year-old man from San Luis, Rio Colorado, of Sonora of Mexico, for additional inspection of his van as he attempted to enter the U.S.
After a CBP narcotics detection canine led to nearly 50 packages of drugs that were in various areas throughout the vehicle. All together, the packages have an estimated worth of almost $158,000.
Officers seized the drugs and vehicles, while the subject was arrested and turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
