TUCSON, Ariz. — The road to Mt. Lemmon is closed again Thursday afternoon as rain and snow begin falling over southern Arizona.

County officials say the Catalina Highway is closed to all traffic except authorized county employees and residents of the area. The announcement came at around 4 p.m.

County officials say the road will remain closed until conditions improve, which can change suddenly. Those looking for the latest conditions can call the sheriff's department's road conditions hotline: (520)-547-7510.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department also says there was a three-vehicle crash on the Catalina Highway near the Palisades. No one was injured in the crash.
