Catalina Foothills Unified School District is ranked best in Arizona

It's back to school for many students, and students heading to their first day of class at Catalina Foothills already have bragging rights.

The unified school district has been named the best in the state, according to the recent Niche rankings.

The 2019 Best School Districts ranking is based on a time consuming analysis of key statistics and millions of reviews from students and parents using data from the U.S. Department of Education.

The district nearly got straight A's in every category, too.

  • College readiness
  • Graduation rates
  • SAT/ACT scores
  • Teacher quality
  • Public school district ratings

Catalina Foothills Unified School District has more than 4,900 students in grades Pre-K and K-12 with a student-teacher ratio of 19 to 1.

The state test scores show that 66% of students are at least proficient in math and 69% in reading.
