The Indy 500 is the greatest spectacle in racing, but yesterday's 101st running may be remembered most for a spectacular two car crash.
Coming out of turn two, Jay Howard crosses outside the racing line and hits the wall.
Pole-sitter Scott Dixon then hits Howard's car after he cuts in front of him.
Dixon's car goes airborne, slamming into the inside wall and lands wheels up. The car is destroyed in the crash, but Dixon is just fine.
He and Howard walked away from the crash and were cleared by medics.
Takuma Sato became the first Japanese winner of the Indianapolis 500.
