The Democratic candidate for Arizona's 8th Congressional District has called out incumbent Republican U.S. Rep. Debbie Lesko for her lack of support for women accusing Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault.

The Arizona Republic reports Democrat challenger Hiral Tipirneni called Lesko out in a tweet on Monday for not voicing support for the women.

She says supporting the women's right to be heard is not a partisan issue.

Lesko later responded to the tweet, noting that she is a survivor of domestic violence. She says she doesn't think victims should be politicized.

Lesko, who has voiced support for Kavanaugh, has said that she does support hearing what the women have to say.

She criticized Tipirneni's tweet and says there is no place in politics for that kind of attack.
