MARANA, Ariz (KGUN9-TV) - Marana Police have arrested a man in connection to the barrel cacti stolen from the Dove Mountain area.
Marana Police say 48-year-old Guillermo Murguia was ID'ed through tips provided following the release of surveillance video of a man stealing about 13 hundred dollars' worth of cacti from a new development at the end of Dove Mountain Boulevard.
Marana Police Sergeant Chris Warren says, “It could be that he's just selling them to friends or family. Or he might be in the landscaping business himself and he in turn sells them or uses them in projects that he's in turn, doing."
Murguia was arrested for one count of theft.
Detectives are continuing their investigation and additional charges could be filed in the future.
